This pose comes right out of the Shoulder Stand and shares many of the same benefits. Be sure to keep lots of length in your spine. Avoid a feeling of compression or slumping. As in the Shoulder Stand, it is important to keep the body weight in your shoulders and off of your head and/or neck.
You should be able to breathe and even speak while in this pose. If you can’t, you are probably dangerously compressing your throat. Do not look to the left or right when in this pose due to danger to your cervical spine.
I don’t mean to scare you; this is a good pose when done correctly.
