Workshops :: Self Healing Through Mindful Movement

This workshop is an in-depth exploration of Nia’s Five Stages of Self Healing technique. The five stages are based on five stages of human development: Embryonic, Creeping, Crawling, Standing and Walking. Moving your body through this primordial journey will reeducate it on its ideal functionality and alignment. It will integrate your body and develop holistic strength and flexibility in the exact perfect proportions. The results are immediate and profound. You will have the opportunity to experience each of Nia's Five Stages of Self Healing in a deep and personal way, and you will have the experience of going through all five stages a number of times. Each time you practice The 5 Stages, you reconstruct human evolution from the womb. You give your body a chance to start over and develop itself anew.

By the end of this workshop you will have a simple technique that you can use as a workout, a massage and a healing modality. You can use this technique at home, on the road or whereever you are. If you only do one form of movement in your life, this is what you should do. It is not only complete and amazingly effective, but it is powerfully simple and can be adapted to a warmup a workout or a massage. This workshop will demonstrate how to make these adaptations.

For comfort’s sake, it is recommended that you wear light, comfortable clothing that allows you full, free movement and that covers your body (i.e. long sleeve T-shirts and long sweat-pants are ideal). You will be asked to remove any jewelry or metal objects and not to wear clothes with exposed zippers, rivets, belt buckles, and the like. It is also advisable to wear soft knee pads. You can bring your own pads or rent or buy them from Jason in class.

You will probably be doing Nia’s Five Stages for the rest of your life after this workshop.
