Child’s Pose

This restful pose is useful if, during your practice you find yourself short of breath or lightheaded or if you just need a rest. The effect on the spine is a gentle forward bend.

The big toes are touching and the heels are spread to create a place for the buttocks to rest on the soles of the feet. In the picture, my hands are outstretched, but this pose is also done with the arms at the side and the hands, palms up, on the floor by your feet.

Namaste.
