Triangle :: Trikonasana

This gives a nice lateral stretch to the spine and really opens the hip joints. It tones the spinal nerves and is believed to cause the body to become lighter and to increase the ease of the other poses.

Keep both knees absolutely straight and your hips facing forward. Avoid the common tendency to allow your buttocks to protrude backward. The spine should always be lengthening out of the pelvis and not curving. Remember that the spine continues past the neck and well into the skull. The feet are not parallel on the ground, but rather the front foot is rotated ninety degrees and the back foot is turned slightly inward so that the heel is the furthest thing from you. Don’t let the fingers curve lazily, but keep the arms and hands full of energy.

Namaste.
